Definition · Service 03

Build is the service for ambitious projects: complex web applications, SaaS, custom CRM, bespoke e-commerce, business platforms. Architecture designed for performance and maintainability, modern TypeScript stack, long-term support.

About this service

Your project goes beyond a marketing site. You need a complex web application, a SaaS for your product, a custom CRM tailored to your business, an e-commerce that breaks out of Shopify templates, or a business platform integrated with your existing tools. The Build service is designed for exactly that: architecture optimised for performance and maintainability, modern TypeScript stack (Next.js + Payload + Supabase), automated tests, continuous deployment, long-term support. No proprietary framework locking you in, no no-code capping you at 80%. Real, maintainable code, deployable anywhere.

FAQ

Questions I get asked..

  • Why not no-code (Webflow, Bubble)?

No-code is excellent for validating a product quickly. But for an ambitious project that must evolve, scale, integrate business modules, and last 5 to 10 years, custom code remains more cost-effective. Studjoow builds in standard TypeScript, with no lock-in.

  • Is the code portable?

Yes: everything is standard Next.js + TypeScript, deployable on Vercel, Cloudflare, AWS, Netlify, or self-hosted with Docker. No proprietary framework. If you switch providers, any Next.js developer can pick it up.

  • How many people work on the project?

Studjoow is an independent studio. On Build projects, John Houzi leads architecture and development. For larger projects, senior developer partners are brought in. You always have a single point of contact.

  • What about maintenance after launch?

Ongoing maintenance on a monthly plan or one-off interventions. Since the code is standard and documented, any Next.js developer can take over. Studjoow does not impose its own continuation.

  • What level of client involvement is expected?

One to two hours per week on average: sprint review, demo feedback, product decision sign-offs. More in the briefing phase (1 to 2 days of workshops), less during pure build.
